Happy BIRTHday, not BURSTday, not BIRDday.

An English joke conversation with Mr Lee again

I always don't understand why Taiwanese like to speak with American's accent whenever they try to speak English. A simple "Happy birthday" can be pronounced as "Happy BURSTday" by Taiwanese. Because they wanna emphasize on the "r" and "th".

REPEAT AFTER ME NOW,

HAPPY BER-AF-DAY.
The af should be errrrrr and end with the "f". Not arrrrr(f).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Taiwanese: Happy Burstday.

Mr Lee: Happy Bird-day.

*slap forehead* OMGGGGGGG.

I asked him, "I don't understand, is it very hard to pronounce Happy Birthday? Why can't Taiwanese (in the drama) say Happy Birthday but say Happy BURSTday? Burst whose day to a birthday fellow?"

Then I asked him to repeat.
Mr Lee: Happy bird-day la!

me: HUH? WHAT BIRD??? hahahahahahaha! 鸟节快乐?? People 生日快乐, you 鸟节快乐?
(And I can't stop laughing.)

Mr Lee felt paiseh and not willing to repeat after me when I teach him the correct way of saying "Happy Birthday".

I told him I remember there was this salesman who sells perfume, asked me and my group of girls if we wanna buy his perfume for people's BIRDday. HAHAHA!!!

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE!

For the explosion:
My mum gave burst to me 21 years ago. I treat my burst day seriously because I treasure my life. I love listening to burst day song. My family and friends had given me the best burst day celebration ever.

For the BIRD lovers:
My mum gave bird to me 21 years ago. I treat my bird day seriously because I treasure my life. I love listening to bird day song. My family and friends had given me the best bird day celebration ever.

For the good birth:
My mum gave birth to me 21 years ago. I treat my birthday seriously because I treasure my life. I love listening to birthday song. My family and friends had given me the best birthday celebration ever.
