Kind-hearted souls are all around. I appreciate to see helpful people who do not ask for any return.
Hereby I wanna compliment this taxi driver, he is the best taxi driver I have never met in my life.
If you guys remember, I ever cursed one of the taxi driver, a very rude driver.
Both the nice driver and the rude driver are from the same company, driving a blue car and they are from "Comfort".
On 4th June, I stayed in my school till 11.30pm. Another of my friend, Shi Tong, she's supposed to take the same bus back to Woodlands with me. The last bus to Woodlands is at 11:43pm at one of the bus stop.
I was worried that I cannot catch the last bus, so we decided to take cab to the bus stop.
I got onto this nice taxi driver's car, he asked us where we are going. I told him we need to catch the last bus because we don't wanna spend money for the long travel distance by cab, it will cost a bomb.
Usually if the driver is out to cheat your money, after hearing such statement, he should be driving us around to con more money according to his meter right? This driver did not do that. He quickly took us to the bus stop, I checked my phone time, it is 11:46pm, I thought I have missed the bus. But the driver told me it's only 11:42pm.
I didn't wanna take the risk, but I already paid the cab money. So I tried to be thick-skinned and asked the driver if he is alright to continue the trip for us.
He was very kancheong with us. He worried that we might not catch the last bus.
He said, "Yes of course, get on the car, quick, I don't want you girls to miss the bus!"
I only paid him $3.90 for the first ride. He gave me my change of $6.10 and I grabbed in my hands, waiting to give him all the money once I alight at another bus stop.
He took us to Ikea bus stop. He wanted us to confirm with him that we definitely can catch the last bus from that bus stop. I think he has the intention to fetch us back to Woodlands if we tell him we might have missed the last bus from that bus stop already.
I apologised to the nice taxi driver and opened my hands, wanting him to take the cash from my palm. He said, "No no no girls, get down now otherwise you will miss the bus! It's ok girls, I just want you all to catch the last bus."
Shi Tong and I were trying to persuade him to take the money because we felt really bad. Is like taking advantage of him!
In the end, we alighted. I did not pay him more because he turned down.
Shi Tong started to search her pockets.
"My phone...?" She stumbled.
And the bus 168 was here.
We got onto the bus and she said she dropped the phone in the taxi. I was not worried at all because I knew the driver will not take it. Then she told me, "I am not worried about the driver too, I'm worried about the next passenger!"
I felt like there's a loud thunder and storm suddenly. I used my phone to call many people to check for the comfort company hotline. But we saw one comfort car drove pass us so we got the hotline that is advertised on the car.
I called numerous times but no one picked up. I messaged to Shi Tong's handphone, asking the nice driver to contact me if he happened to read my message. No response.
We thought we could not get the phone back..........
Then the next day, Shi Tong called me and told me that she managed to contact the comfort company. They transfer the line to the nice taxi driver! The driver told Shi Tong that she was lucky because the passenger returned the phone to him the moment the passenger got onto his cab.
WOW.
His car plate number is SHA3587D.
He is an Indian man.
Hi Mr taxi driver, I wanna tell you I am really grateful for what you did. You are the nicest taxi driver I have ever met. You are caring and very honest. I don't know what to say to thank you. Thank you very much. =D
